Got back to bath on monday, have been trying to play Civ-IV but our PC appears to be slightly underpowered (despite easily exceeding the minimum spec.) have bought another 1/2 gig of ram which i hope might make a difference.

Some cool things:

  • “Quick mode”: I have now played (and won) two full games which lasted less than 4 hours, this never happened before.
  • The trinity of culture, religion and war is nice, pick two forget the other one seems to be the solution.
  • The graphics are pretty
  • The AI is much better than the last time i played it (Civ II)

Some not so good things

  • It is way too slow on my PC :(
  • In one game two Armoured infantry units were killed by archers.
  • I couldn’t find a way of changing city production en-mass

Anyway i should really stop playing, i have a thesis to finish.

Also rather annoyingly i appear to have broken a tooth in the pub, it doesn’t hurt or anything but the first “Emergency” appointment i could get with my dentist is in 10 days time, so hopefully it won’t start to…
